Every catalogue hides its author somewhere in the back matter. This one gives him a chapter, below the waterline, where the light is honest.

I was born in 2004 by the Tyrrhenian Sea, between Salerno and the Amalfi coast. Everyone who grows up here inherits the same two things: a view painters once crossed Europe to see, and the quiet suspicion that everything important happens somewhere else. This book is me keeping the first inheritance and refusing the second.

By day I study medicine. The body is the original machine — undocumented, load-bearing, no maintainer on call. Medicine is the slowest, most careful discipline I know: every certainty is earned, checked, and earned again. That pace is not a bug. I want to carry it over to machines, which currently have all of the speed and very little of the care.

By night I build. A Morse trainer shaped like a lighthouse. A platform I host on my own server, blame included. An extension that takes plaster casts of interfaces. Films that let 19th-century paintings move again. None of it is a startup; all of it is practice — the ten thousand set-down words that eventually hold a ship.

And the sea keeps showing up because it is the thing I have watched longest. It never hurries and it never stops. As far as I can tell, that is the entire method — everything else on this site is a footnote to it.
